Homa Bay county govern, Hon Cyprian Awiti, yesterday held talks with the Cabinet Secretary for Agriculture on possible establishment of a fish processing plant in the county.

This happened when the CS paid a courtesy call to the Governors office to discuss the state of Fisheries, Dairy and other agricultural priority areas.

During the meetin, HE. Cyprian Awiti was accompanied by the deputy governor Deputy H.E Hamilton Orata, Agriculture CEC member Eliud Otieno, Chief Officer Jennifer Ndege among others.

The CS Willy Bett promised to send his team in a week's time to address the plight of farmers in the County.

The establishment of a fish processing plant in the area will be a major boost to the fishermen and women who have for decades incur huge losses during lack of immediate market for their catch.
